Another Birthday...

Twelve and all she wants is to gain five pounds so she can sit in the front seat of cars. Silly girl...won't be long and you won't want weight for your birthday! As always, gracious in opening presents...never forgetting an immediate "thank you" no matter the gift.
And since she is so into recycling, Grammie finds the perfect packaging...no trash involved. Although her dad believes I need to change my thoughts on my age if I'm going to use 45's as wrapping. Does anyone still have those let alone remember what they are?
Twelve years...what a loving gentle spirit you have become... Happy Birthday. Love you to the Moon!

Some beautiful stitching and pictures here!
Happy birthday to her!

Yes I remember 45's. Do they even make the record players any longer?

Wishing a belated happy birthday to your DD.

Yes, I still have 45s, 33s, and, if you can believe it, even a few 78s. When my dad passed away I got several boxes of records and albums from the 40s to the 80s. They were added to my own collection from the 70s and early 80s. My 12 year-old-son has been most impressed with the original Star Wars soundtrack that still has the poster from 1977. :) We've been playing a lot of old musical soundtracks, Nat "King" Cole, and Frank Sinatra on the combo player lately. Nice memories.

Thank you for your comment, Joy! I've moved so often, Joy, I think I must be used to it! I do like your stitching pictures and happy birthday to she who wishes to sit in the front seat, lol!

What a sweet girl! Happy Birthday wishes!

Yes...I remember 45's! My mother gave me some when I was a kid, my most favorite one was Roy Orbison's Pretty Woman and then some Elvis ones too. My hubby collects old LP's, but doesn't have too many of the 45's...you're very clever to use them for wrapping!

Thanks for visiting me Joy. Happy Birthday to your granddaughter! Your pictures of your stitching is great! I have became a follower. I did have some 45's.. May have to look for them... LOL

Bowled over...

With the thought anyone would stitch a design over and over...let alone seven times!  This is not my stitching and I normally don't share the stitching of others.  Although, I did finish the witch seven times.  No, I won't stitch a bowl of wee witches, but I would stitch more than one if I knew who the designer was. Do you stitch a design more than once?

Ending and beginning. . .

Each new year fills my heart with reflections on the old and expectations for the new.  While taking down the tree this morning, thoughts of  "Will I always put up a tree?" came to mind.  How could I not?  Each ornament has its own story to tell. Even Annie was a little sad to see the tree go. . . However, starting the new year stitching was a perfect way to bring in 2012.  Thank you Beth ( Heartstring Samplery ) for providing this lovely little chart .  Will you make new memories and remember the old?
