The countdown is on...

And everyone appears to be caught up in what was once known as the "hustle and bustle" of the season. Today it seems as though many are in a hurry and so tired and out of sorts they can't possibly take time to think what the season even means to them. When did that happen? Why are we all in a mad rush to find the "perfect gift"?

Not me...not today...time spent driving around our City remembering different buildings and places with a little comfort food on the side was perfect!

What do you think...wouldn't time enjoying our days be the perfect gift?

You're so right...I find myself caught up in trying to get everything done instead of just slowing down and enjoying the reason for the season. Thanks for the reminder....
Love the pictures, esp. the bridge and the yummy dessert...what is that?! I need some of it, lol!

Andrea, the dessert is bread pudding. The bridge on the left is an old one they are tearing down which is sad because I have fond memories of going to town from the farm over that bridge!! At least the new one is interesting.

Lee, that extra spoon could certainly be for you if you're ever in this part of the country...lol

I just happened upon your lovely blog, Joy! And so happy that I did, it is wonderful!

And yes, I do think that enjoying our days is the most wonderful perfect gift one can attain! We need to cherish each and every one and never take these days for granted!

Bowled over...

With the thought anyone would stitch a design over and over...let alone seven times!  This is not my stitching and I normally don't share the stitching of others.  Although, I did finish the witch seven times.  No, I won't stitch a bowl of wee witches, but I would stitch more than one if I knew who the designer was. Do you stitch a design more than once?

Ending and beginning. . .

Each new year fills my heart with reflections on the old and expectations for the new.  While taking down the tree this morning, thoughts of  "Will I always put up a tree?" came to mind.  How could I not?  Each ornament has its own story to tell. Even Annie was a little sad to see the tree go. . . However, starting the new year stitching was a perfect way to bring in 2012.  Thank you Beth ( Heartstring Samplery ) for providing this lovely little chart .  Will you make new memories and remember the old?
