A Plus Day...

Not only was the temperature a plus 80 degree day last Wednesday, it was a wonderful day to meander through the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. A 300-acre garden with several small themed gardens and an emphasis on natural preservation along with hiking trails.

Never having been a fan of water gardens, this could change my thinking.

Interesting sculpture, "Vitruvian Woman",made of earth and concrete.

It was difficult not to "pocket" some of these poppy seeds.

Having had horses as a child, this sculpture was a favorite. Not sure which made me smile more, the moon and horseshoes or the fact it was called "Bill".

No particular reason to look up while hiking the trails...other than a different angle of beauty.
Beautiful weather, lovely gardens, "hiking" friend and interesting sculptures...truly a Plus Day don't you think?

Definitely a Plus Day, Joy! I think I would love visiting those gardens too!
OMG that scenery is beautiful. I've never been one for being out in "nature" but those pictures are awe-inspiring.

I'll email you soon--I'm being rushed off the computer by impatient teenagers!

Bowled over...

With the thought anyone would stitch a design over and over...let alone seven times!  This is not my stitching and I normally don't share the stitching of others.  Although, I did finish the witch seven times.  No, I won't stitch a bowl of wee witches, but I would stitch more than one if I knew who the designer was. Do you stitch a design more than once?

Many...

Of you have been posting photos of your Christmas decorations, some even rethinking this year's decorating. Few changes take place here, which may seem boring, but I think of it as tradition.  Every year when I begin to decorate fond memories come to mind as I place each ornament, Santa and treasure in it's usual place. Yet simple as it may be, I did rearrange the deer tray and... The Santas came down from the mantle... Allowing one of my favorite samplers to shine without the clutter. What changes did you make this year?

Counting. . .

And counting the days, or should I say the months since I have posted.  I think of it often and do so enjoy seeing your posts.  Where does the time go? Life is becoming a new normal here and all is well.  I am, however, surprised that I even remember how to start a post.   Finely Finished  is now a full time job--not my favorite word.  Finish work is a passion for me (not a job) and I'm fortunate to have clients' that allow me to spend time in the studio and "create" using their finely stitched pieces.  And how fun to have someone say "do your magic"!   Strawberries seem to be a favorite to stitch these days.  With so many lovely designs, I can see why.  Erica Michaels' Quaker Strawberry  has passed through the studio in many color ways. Tell me. . .are you counting stitches or days?   Thank you for stopping by, looking forward to hearing from you.
