Time. . .

"It Takes no more time to see the good side of life than to see the bad."

This I know to be true.  Actually, I've always tried to see the good, but now I try to live and believe it!  Looking back on the past few years change raised it's ugly head, leaving me with two choices--continue to live a life of good or bad.  I choose good.

The loss of my husband was tragic, yet I have a heart full of good memories.  Life goes on and he would want that for me.  Old friends have fallen away, new have arrived.  Things, and i do mean things, break; they can be repaired or replaced.  Nights are long and lonely at times; read a book, listen to music, dance in the moonlight.  One need not look far to see and do good.

Since I've been away from blogging for some time, let me share a few photos of the good.

So much good. . .

How about you, do you think about the "good"?

What a great thought provoking post, Joy! Enjoyed seeing your pictures of the good! Your grandgirls are beautiful young women. Time goes by too quickly to dwell on the bad vs. the good. Good = spending time with family and friends, reading, taking adventures, and of course, stitching. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I should, and I do, but not as often as I should! Thanks.

A great post from you today. Yes, I think as I get older I think about all the wonderful times and people in my past life. It takes too much energy to frown and complain and be negative. There will always be things we can not change, so I would rather move on.

I'm glad to see good times on your post. You deserve them! With all the scary things happening in the world today, I've been needing to find a way to think of the good things. At the moment, one of the ways is to re-read my favorite books, those that made me feel good. Anything that works is good!

I really enjoyed this post, Joy... It must be hard without your dear husband by your side, especially at night. My mom says the evenings are the hardest for her since dad died last year.

Your granddaughters are so sweet--it must be awesome to be a grandma :) Some day--I hope!!

Bowled over...

With the thought anyone would stitch a design over and over...let alone seven times!  This is not my stitching and I normally don't share the stitching of others.  Although, I did finish the witch seven times.  No, I won't stitch a bowl of wee witches, but I would stitch more than one if I knew who the designer was. Do you stitch a design more than once?

Ending and beginning. . .

Each new year fills my heart with reflections on the old and expectations for the new.  While taking down the tree this morning, thoughts of  "Will I always put up a tree?" came to mind.  How could I not?  Each ornament has its own story to tell. Even Annie was a little sad to see the tree go. . . However, starting the new year stitching was a perfect way to bring in 2012.  Thank you Beth ( Heartstring Samplery ) for providing this lovely little chart .  Will you make new memories and remember the old?
