Confused...

It's cooler and calmer in this little part of the world. So much so the neglected fall project is once again in progress. Something to keep me occupied rather than Fall decorating...looking for pumpkins, bittersweet, anything Fall. My jewel of a friend says it's too early and keeps reminding me it is still Summer so maybe it is a little early...after all it is only Labor Day weekend.

Yet when strolling through the garden, I couldn't help but plop this skull on the stakes where it belongs...even though he says, "I don't think I like that". Well, it's going to stay although there does seem to be some confusion as to the true season.

What do you think...Summer or Fall?

I am so ready for the fall weather, the colors, Halloween, etc...the only thing I'm not ready for - School tomorrow! I like summer's less structured routine with my teen...

After this hot midwest summer it is already Fall in my world. I've started putting out my autumny stitched pieces.
Love the rosey skull! My kids will be begging for one if they see this picture!

Fall is definitely on the way, Joy! We've noticed that the squirrels have been busy making nests in our oak tree in the front yard. Love the cooler temps we've had lately too.
Great whimsey for your garden!
Hi Joy:
I don't think it is ever to early to do what you love....I love fall also... I hate to tell anyone this but I started stitching pumpkins for my mom in February...Please don't let that get out my family already thinks I'm a little touched...LOL

Bowled over...

With the thought anyone would stitch a design over and over...let alone seven times!  This is not my stitching and I normally don't share the stitching of others.  Although, I did finish the witch seven times.  No, I won't stitch a bowl of wee witches, but I would stitch more than one if I knew who the designer was. Do you stitch a design more than once?

Ending and beginning. . .

Each new year fills my heart with reflections on the old and expectations for the new.  While taking down the tree this morning, thoughts of  "Will I always put up a tree?" came to mind.  How could I not?  Each ornament has its own story to tell. Even Annie was a little sad to see the tree go. . . However, starting the new year stitching was a perfect way to bring in 2012.  Thank you Beth ( Heartstring Samplery ) for providing this lovely little chart .  Will you make new memories and remember the old?
