No going back now...

At least not in the stitching. Dated pattern, dated colors...a little scary? After all this is a 1989 pattern. Can you believe that? I remember stitching this twice for gifts and always wanting to have it for myself, so the stitching began. A little into it, I was doubting the colors...can you remember when DMC 927 was so popular? Although questioning the colors, I had gone too far to turn back...yet, changing DMC 407 to muted greens (middle alphabet) was a good choice along with "tweaking" the border flowers. All this in little under a week! Just think, going back to an old favorite brought back the pleasure of stitching!!
Do you have an old favorite?

I love those old patterns and the tweaking is working. Looking lovely.

Great tweaks!

I have a favorite that I've stitched for others but really wanted for myself ... still hoping to make it for our home one of these days!!

Ooohhh, I like it! Your tweaks are right on!
Happy to hear this project brought the fun back for you!
There is one thing I stitched back in the early 90's that I plan on doing again someday...some patterns are timeless :)
Yours is lovely...what's the name of it?

Bowled over...

With the thought anyone would stitch a design over and over...let alone seven times!  This is not my stitching and I normally don't share the stitching of others.  Although, I did finish the witch seven times.  No, I won't stitch a bowl of wee witches, but I would stitch more than one if I knew who the designer was. Do you stitch a design more than once?

Ending and beginning. . .

Each new year fills my heart with reflections on the old and expectations for the new.  While taking down the tree this morning, thoughts of  "Will I always put up a tree?" came to mind.  How could I not?  Each ornament has its own story to tell. Even Annie was a little sad to see the tree go. . . However, starting the new year stitching was a perfect way to bring in 2012.  Thank you Beth ( Heartstring Samplery ) for providing this lovely little chart .  Will you make new memories and remember the old?
