Counting Bits of Joy

Or a start? The question of the New Year or perhaps the question of the Year! The first weeks of January have come and gone and I have yet to pick up a needle. However, I have had these amazing bursts of energy which have led to much needed cleaning and organizing. Don't get excited, this too shall pass. In between purging the bits of paper and a plethora of unusable items, I have managed to actually finish, and I do mean finish, stitched projects from the piles. What a great feeling! Never one to worry about the numerous projects in the works, the unfinished ones are beginning to tug at my conscience. That and not having to leave the house for finishing supplies, must mean something...what do you think? The pillow is an old Ewe and Eye pattern...lucky me... my love and I have the same initials. Is a term often used to describe people from the Northeast and Midwest who travel to warmer climates during winter months. Looking out my window, I'm hoping to always love the snow and the birds it brings to the feeders! What type of "snowbird" are you?

And more snow! This may be the first real snow of the season...certainly the first of the year. There just may be something to this not working?! No driving worries, fun day with the grandgirls and staying indoors, all warm and cozy. I do so love snow...how about you?

Friday, actually the First Friday of 2011. Who would think I would be standing in the cold night air at a rally for our Division Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs , after a day of antique shopping and good food with the Jewel? First rally on First Friday...how fun! As you might notice by the photo (I'm behind these people), I'm short...however I refused to be pushed around by the gals who came late and wanted to stand in front of me. After all, rules are rules and everyone else kept moving. What's that saying? "First come, first serve"... Tomorrow's a big day...Go Chiefs !

Going to make resolutions for the New Year. Why? Just another pressure one forces upon themselves. Having plans last year to dedicate this blog to all things stitching...especially samplers...I see now that didn't exactly happen. Not going to let that be a negative. No resolutions...just not feeling guilty for NOT...stitching, posting, dieting, exercising, organizing. You know, the all consuming list. Yes, I still want to tackle each and every one...especially stitching. Wish me luck!! And to all of you, a Happy New Year...take a little time to enjoy every day. Not going to be in KNOTS this year.
