Have to laugh...

My husband found this downstairs in the man cave. He brings it up and says, "Do you want me to clean this for Thanksgiving?". I said sure...after all it gives him something to do. Seriously, did I actually stitch on Aida? Something in me just couldn't part with the piece, although I did over dye (probably one of my first) the stark cream fabric. Guess it won't hurt to hang for a few days.
Thankful to have found linen!

I often think the same thing. How could I have stitched on Aida? Still I can't part with those first pieces I did before moving on to linen. All that work, right?

I guess many of us feel the same way. I remember the first time I stitched on linen. The girl in my then LNS actually forced me into it..with some bribery. I have not gone back to aida...well, maybe a few times on 18ct....but I dread it. And yse, you should hang it up...it is a nice piece.

Me too! But I'll never part with my first pieces stitched on Aida. They have a certain "charm", don't they?

Hang it up! It will remind you how far you have come. One of my favorite Christmas pieces I ever did was on aida cloth and I believe that it was done in 1985 or 1986. Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh I cringe when I see my old aida pieces! lol! But guys don't understand, do they? Love all your current stitching -- and this one is nice too, even if it's on aida. Have a great Thanksgiving!

And counting the days, or should I say the months since I have posted.  I think of it often and do so enjoy seeing your posts.  Where does the time go? Life is becoming a new normal here and all is well.  I am, however, surprised that I even remember how to start a post.   Finely Finished  is now a full time job--not my favorite word.  Finish work is a passion for me (not a job) and I'm fortunate to have clients' that allow me to spend time in the studio and "create" using their finely stitched pieces.  And how fun to have someone say "do your magic"!   Strawberries seem to be a favorite to stitch these days.  With so many lovely designs, I can see why.  Erica Michaels' Quaker Strawberry  has passed through the studio in many color ways. Bowled over...

With the thought anyone would stitch a design over and over...let alone seven times!  This is not my stitching and I normally don't share the stitching of others.  Although, I did finish the witch seven times.  No, I won't stitch a bowl of wee witches, but I would stitch more than one if I knew who the designer was. Do you stitch a design more than once?

Many...

Of you have been posting photos of your Christmas decorations, some even rethinking this year's decorating. Few changes take place here, which may seem boring, but I think of it as tradition.  Every year when I begin to decorate fond memories come to mind as I place each ornament, Santa and treasure in it's usual place. Yet simple as it may be, I did rearrange the deer tray and... The Santas came down from the mantle... Allowing one of my favorite samplers to shine without the clutter.
